Windows Search for XP users
New operating system has its pro’s and con’s. One of Windows major improvement after XP into Vista was its Windows Search. When you click the start button, you can type anything and within seconds it will give you the results. This has actually made many things easier instead of the old Windows Search function where it will have to look all through your drive. Now, the new Windows Search uses the indexing method.
XP has been the major operating system which is very stable until today but it was lacking this feature since it was implemented in Windows Vista. I have actually just installed Windows XP as another operating system because I would like to do many projects but I’m being stopped by the operating system. I have Creative Audigy Value sound card and other recording and audio devices and I want to use it for some recording purpose but due to driver incompatibility in Vista and also in Windows 7, I decided to use XP as another operating system to suit my other requirements.
Whenever I use it, I find it a little difficult after getting used to Windows 7 and Vista. Especially without the search option, it really makes it difficult to go and search for the file I want which will be inside a few folders. Finally I found an update from Microsoft where you can actually install Windows search in Windows XP. This is a screen shot of how it looks :
So XP users, you can start enjoying this feature. You can download it from the link above directly from the Microsoft’s web site.

Time management problem
Time is something really important but I don’t seem to use it very well. My last post was on August 16th and now its exactly 2 months after that. When I first started blogging, there was a passion that I should keep posting on useful stuffs and everything i see, I tend to blog about it. But after some time due to time and situation, i rarely blog.
I used to keep up with the issues around especially with political issues and I always blog about it. But after knowing some rap*st becoming our ministers and all those 1 Malaysia lies. And I still see some fellow jumping parties here and there. People still voting for this wonderful government, so I just don’t even wanna listen to anything about this country. The more I hear, the more I irritate myself.
Recently I’ve been wasting a lots of time not doing anything although I have so many things to do. Guess I have to manage my time properly. I need to also work and complete Drewbuzz Radio 2.0. Will be releasing it soon and will try to keep blogging to keep this site alive.

Review on Nokia N85
Looks like I’m starting to take long intervals between my posts.
Anyways, just felt like blogging about something.
After some time of testing some China phones, finally decided to get a better phone for some functions I needed.
I made some research and I was trying to look for a phone with the functions I need.
Was looking for a decent camera, GPS, 3G and something where I can get some cool apps.
I had a some liking towards slide phones and after some research, seems like Nokia phones has a lot of functions. Nokia’s operating system , Symbian is unique and caught my attention for some reason. I seriously dislike spending a lot on phones but i really like the functions in the phones. My dad agreed to get me one, so I was deciding and thought of giving it a try and decided on Nokia N85.
Now have a look on the phone I decided.(I was lazy to snap pictures of the real phone I bought, so I grabbed these pictures from the net)

I guess it looks better with these photo’s.
Now lets go to my review. So far, its been a good phone to me.
I like the design and the phone itself. This phone is a dual slide phone, the slide upwards is fine but the downwards a little bit hard. And as you can see, it has a navi wheel but I don’t really think its a very cool thing. It has a 5 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens and the quality of the images are really nice. It even has an FM transmitter function, where we can transmit music to a FM radio within a range.
And as for me, since I still don’t have a good internet connection 3G works just fine for me. I can get a speed of 70kbps when downloading a file.
Other than that, the phone’s firmware can be upgraded easily. Just check for updates on the phone and it will inform you if there is an upgrade, just use 3G or WiFi and you’re done.
As I said, Symbian phones are unique and has many cool apps and its very flexible. I even used an application to take screen shot of my mobile. And now these are real photo’s of my mobile interface. Have a look on the apps I have on my phone :
(Not a Celcom user. Using Celcom, just for the 3G. Its a sad thing Maxis and DiGi got no 3G plan for a week or a day)

So these is my review on N85. I guess I’m more than satisfied with it.
Its a great phone and would recommend it to anyone and I thank God cause I have an opportunity to get such a phone.

How to use DiGi GPRS/EDGE as your internet connection ?
Finally, I got some time to share some info after the whole week of mid term tests.
After I started my degreeĀ in Cyberjaya, I didn’t find any rooms or didn’t even apply for the hostel.
Currently staying in PJ in my uncle’s house. I’m still looking for a room in Cyberjaya for a reasonable price.
So I can’t actually apply for streamyx since they have a 1 year contract.
Luckily I had this DiGi Campus plan, where they are offering RM30 for unlimited data usage.
So i decided to give it a try, and by the way, the speed is not bad. Not fast , not slow !!
OK, first of all, your phone should have a modem function.
You can either connect it through bluetooth or your phone cable to USB.
The easiest is bluetooth because, it will find the modem and its driver automatically.
Once you have connected your phone to your computer, you should have a new modem in your computer.
All we need now is just a dialer. Go to Network Connection and create a new connection.
Create a dial up connection with the number *99#. Make sure that your dialer is using the modem from your phone.
This dialer doesn’t have a username or a password.
Thats all !! Just click connect and you now have internet on the computer.
Note : You must have your GPRS activated & GPRS setting correct in your mobile phone in order to use this on your computer.
