How to use DiGi GPRS/EDGE as your internet connection ?
Finally, I got some time to share some info after the whole week of mid term tests.
After I started my degree in Cyberjaya, I didn’t find any rooms or didn’t even apply for the hostel.
Currently staying in PJ in my uncle’s house. I’m still looking for a room in Cyberjaya for a reasonable price.
So I can’t actually apply for streamyx since they have a 1 year contract.
Luckily I had this DiGi Campus plan, where they are offering RM30 for unlimited data usage.
So i decided to give it a try, and by the way, the speed is not bad. Not fast , not slow !!
OK, first of all, your phone should have a modem function.
You can either connect it through bluetooth or your phone cable to USB.
The easiest is bluetooth because, it will find the modem and its driver automatically.
Once you have connected your phone to your computer, you should have a new modem in your computer.
All we need now is just a dialer. Go to Network Connection and create a new connection.
Create a dial up connection with the number *99#. Make sure that your dialer is using the modem from your phone.
This dialer doesn’t have a username or a password.
Thats all !! Just click connect and you now have internet on the computer.
Note : You must have your GPRS activated & GPRS setting correct in your mobile phone in order to use this on your computer.
2 commentsBloggin from MMU Cyberjaya Campus
After 2 weeks of break, I’ve just started my degree program in MMU Cyberjaya.
Had some trouble in registering my subjects but the FIT administration helped me out and solved my problem easily. Went for a few classes and looks like my Digital Systems lecturer is moving with the speed of 8 GB ram and a quad core. She completed quite a number of things in the first class.
Currently waiting for my Database Systems lecturer in a lab.
The internet here is kinda fast.
This is a screen shot of a speed test from the lab :

What is Optical Illusion ??
Was talking with my cousin and out of the conversation, she missed reading a word and started scolding me. So then she tried to cover it by saying it was just optical illusion. Suddenly I thought of posting something regarding optical illusion. Have a look at the spinning dancer below :

The dancer seems to be clockwise and also anti-clockwise.
This is called optical illusion.
Have a closer look and enjoy yourself.
No commentsWhat is Open Source ? What is Linux ? What is Ubuntu ?
I took a decision before to blog at least 2 or 3 times per week but guess I couldn’t make it. Been busy with other stuffs and also that I have started my second sem. I received a comment from “blabla” that I should keep my blog updated. So I decided to blog about some thing which I think is kinda cool and it might be for useful some people.
Most computer users or university students would have heard this terms like Linux, Ubuntu or open source but they never really knew what is it actually. I’m not a pro but just want to give some glance on something which is out of Windows. I read this quote somewhere on the net and its kinda cool.
This world has got no walls or fences, so why do we need “Windows” and “Gates” ??
Actually, Bill Gates and Microsoft has done a great job in this tech industry. Just that Microsoft doesn’t really care about the local market in smaller countries. An average person will think twice to spend money on the latest Windows softwares. So, lets just look outside the Windows !!
