I think you forgot the most important disadvantage of paid posts.
No one can take you seriously if you’re paid to write about it. There is something about losing your integrity as a blogger to be influenced by money to write about something.
[I don't think so.. For example.. I'm just a form 5 student... How am I suppose to pay for my hosting and my domain... Isnt it a good way to keep up]
Yes…………
He is not lying………..
There are plenty of ways to do so. Working for real is one of them. Earning your credibility is another. Putting up ads like Text Link Ads or even Adsense is much better than paid posts.
The whole idea is this, your reputation and credibility matters to people who are actually looking for a information that matters, you build this up by writing original things with valid points. People aren’t going to take you seriously when you’re getting paid to write while having no experience about it whatsoever. As a result, you eventually get less hits.
What happened to me was that being part of the 9rules blogging community, I managed to know people because of how I wrote, they in turn offered me hosting for free. Complete access on something that companies would pay a lot for. It wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t have credibility and passion for what I blogged about.
The side benefit to having good credibility is, you can make a lot for very little. I only have Google Ads on a few of my posts (about 10 or so), but I get a steady stream of money from them because people keep coming in to read them.
I wrote about this before, monetizing your blog means turning your blog into a business. You have to look after it very carefully to actually get money and spend more time than working 9-5 hours a day because you need to keep up with it. And in business, it’s a whole ballgame entirely. Are you prepared for that?
